This is a collection of poetry written by teachers for teachers, celebrating and commiserating the oldest profession in the world. It has been said that 'those who can, do; those who can't, teach', but this collection sets out to dispel the myth.
Teaching is not for the faint-hearted but for the resilient, for those with indomitable spirit and for those who want to make the world a better place.
And it is about time that those in power recognised this; for our pupils and students are our future, and those whose mission it is to educate them should not feel they are in the gutter while others in less important roles are looking at the stars.
